American-Palestinian Teenager Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Detention

An American-Palestinian adolescent having endured a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel without being charged has been freed.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.
The US state department expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.
Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization right after being freed, family members reported.
According to them, he appears pale, underweight, while battling health issues acquired while detained.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Right now, our priority is providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention he needs after being subjected to harsh conditions and brutal treatment throughout his detention."
The state department stated they would maintain to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.
{"American leadership has no higher priority to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.
A group of American legislators endorsed a document to US authorities and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to secure his release.
The father, parent of four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt about rock throwing due to physical abuse.
There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, learning information solely regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained without charge in Ofer prison in the West Bank.
It is also home to adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities and homicide.
There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Many have never been charged while advocacy organizations, as well as the United Nations, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.
After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.
