Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his televised remarks.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a vital match after voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
