Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Are Sealed.
Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the pair.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his personal sorrow.
"Enough time has elapsed that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he could not remember "any day without mirth".
"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed
This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the LAPD.
A court order issued a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the probe.
The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
Fallout and Commentary
After the killings, public personalities shared divergent comments.
Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing divisive claims that were widely condemned by many individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the critics last week. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they revealed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.
